Russian President Yury Ushakov told reporters on Thursday.
On July 22, a package of documents on supplies of food and fertilisers to the international market was signed in Istanbul. One of them approved the mechanism for grain export from Black Sea ports under control of Ukraine. Another portion of arrangements pertains to the access of Russian food to international markets.
"I do not know because the second portion of this deal is absolutely not being performed so far," Ushakov said, responding to a question about Russia’s readiness to proceed with the grain deal in its current form.
The Russian President discussed the topic of grain and fertilisers with leaders of Qatar and Palestine in particular, the aide noted. "By the way, this topic was also raised during other talks. We spoke to others also on grain and fertilisers. In particular, we talked about that with Qatar and with Palestine," Ushakov said.
Russia can become the top exporter of sunflower oil worldwide, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Thursday at the Cabinet meeting. "Volumes of oil crops are growing. Russia already ranked fifth by supplies to the global market as of the end of the last year. According to preliminary forecasts, we can become the main exporter of sunflower oil," Mishustin said. "Indicators of our self-support with this product will be above 200%, which is more than twice higher than requirements set in the food security doctrine," the Prime Minister noted.
