Russia reportedly produces 330-350 Shahed drones monthly. Russia is producing between 330 and 350 Shahed kamikaze UAVs every month, Vadym Skibitskyi, deputy head of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence (HUR), said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine on January 15.
The potential for boosting the production of armaments and military equipment thanks to the stockpiles and a low base appears to have been largely exhausted in 2023. As a consequence, the main headache of the Russian military industry in 2024 will not be to elevate its performance indicators further, but to maintain the current rates of production, modernisation and refurbishment. Russia plans to buy ballistic missiles from Iran. Iran has developed a new long-distance sophisticated drone for Russia,
reports British TV channel Sky News, referencing an anonymous source. According to them, the Shahed-107 is an explosive and reconnaissance drone. The new drone is from the Shahed-101 drone family, with a V-shaped tail. The drone is approximately 2.5 meters (eight feet) long and has a wingspan of three meters (around 10 feet). The drone can reportedly be launched from a vehicle and has a range of up to 1,500 kilometers (932 miles). It reportedly features a livestreaming transmitter for transmitting video, as well as reconnaissance abilities to identify targets. Sky News’ source says that Iranian and Russian specialists have tested the new drone. Iran reportedly offered “a few units” of the drone to Russia for more than $2mn.
