6.1.1 Budget dynamics - specific issues
The Turkish government’s draft budget for 2023 includes a provision for some Turkish lira (TRY) 600bn ($32bn) in energy subsidies. The subsidies would allow for the subsidising of 80% of the natural gas and 50% of the electricity used by households in an election year.
