In April, precipitation in Turkey was down 57% compared to the seasonal average and 20% compared to April 2021.
In the period up to October 21, Turkey will import 0.4mn tonnes of sugar with zero custom duties.
Turkey’s sugar production fell to 2.52mn tonnes in the 2021/22 season from 3.07mn tonnes in 2020/21.
As of April 25, Turkey was applying export bans on a total of 38 agricultural items.
