It's time for allies to give Ukraine all arms needed to defeat Russia, Zelensky says. The time has come for Kyiv's partners to provide all the weapons necessary to push Russia out of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky said during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin on June 11.
Zelensky visits Saudi Arabia ahead of peace summit. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on social media on the evening of June 12 that he had arrived in Saudi Arabia on a previously unannounced visit.
The number of countries and organizations that have confirmed their participation in Ukraine's global peace summit dropped from 93 to 78, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported on June 11, citing several unnamed EU diplomats.
The main political outcome of the first day of the G7 summit in Italy on June 13 is the signing of a new bilateral security agreement between the United States and Ukraine. The agreement, signed for 10 years, should bind the White House with obligations towards Ukraine even if Donald Trump wins the elections in November, Reuters sources say. An American press release called today's agreement a major step on Ukraine's path to NATO membership. The agreement involves deepening military-technical cooperation between the countries, US assistance in the restoration and development of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex and the further transfer of the army to NATO standards.
Japan, Ukraine sign bilateral security agreement. President Volodymyr Zelensky and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement on the sidelines of the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Italy on June 13.

● President Zelenskyy stated that, with the help of its partners, Ukraine will build up to one GW of gas-fired generator shunting capacity this year and another four GW in the coming years.
● The Chancellor of Germany promised to transfer to Ukraine a third Patriot air defense system, IRIS-T missiles, Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns, and additional missiles.
● EC President Ursula von der Leyen said that Ukraine will receive €1.9B through the Ukraine Facility by the end of June. According to her, €500M have been mobilized for urgent power system repairs; 1,000 generators and solar panels will be provided. Also, in July, the EU will transfer approximately €1.5B in revenues from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. The lion's share will be directed to defense and 10% to reconstruction.
● The EIB will provide more than €1B to support businesses and restore critical infrastructure. The Council of Europe Development Bank will give Ukraine another €100M loan for housing reconstruction.
● Italy will provide Ukraine with €140M for reconstruction and is also preparing a new military aid package to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
● The US will provide €824M to support Ukraine’s energy network. The countries are also working on allocating $7.8B in budget support and $1.5B for Ukraine’s economic recovery.
