4.2 Inflation
4.2.1 CPI dynamics
Inflation in April remained the same as in March - 3.2% annually. This was facilitated by a drop in prices for raw food products and persistent inflationary expectations.
Industrial goods prices increased by 14.8% over the year, and food by 11%. According to the State Statistics Service, wholesale prices of manufacturers of industrial products in May 2024 increased by 14.8% compared to May last year: domestic prices increased by 17%, and export prices by 4.1%. Production of food products, beverages, and tobacco products increased by 11%. The prices of meat production increased the most - by 17.9%, including within Ukraine - by 18.2% and dairy products - by 12.9%, within the country - by 12.2%.
