5.2.3 Gross international reserves
International reserves were $42.4B at the end of April and $39B at the end of May. The volume of international aid decreased compared to March.
Without financial aid, Ukraine lost more than $3B in reserves in one month. Ukraine's international reserves decreased by 7.9% in May 2024 to $39B, as almost no international financial aid was received. In May, the NBU received $20M from the World Bank and $123.1M from the placement of foreign currency bonds, while $412.3M had to be paid for servicing and repayment of state debt in foreign currencies.
