Consumer confidence highest among young urban Georgians
Georgia’s   Consumer Confidence Index   compiled by think tank the ISET Policy Institute improved modestly in March, from -19.1 points to -17.5. The index has remained steady since July 2017, but confidence is consistently higher among young consumers aged under 35, for whom the indicator is 16.6 points higher than older generations.
ISET points out that the age gap is greatest when it comes to consumers’ confidence in their ability to save and to make major purchases either now or in the future.
There is a similar disparity concerning location, with Tbilisi residents considerably more confident about their ability to make major purchases than those from other parts of the country.
The March index also revealed some falling off in confidence about the future. The small improvement of 1.6 points during the month was due to a strong increase in the Present Situation Index, while the Index of Expectations declined slightly.

Georgia’s industrial PPI up 8.4% y/y in May
Georgia’s   Producer Price Index  (PPI) for industrial products increased by 8.4% y/y in May, while rising by a modest 0.6% compared to April, the state statistics office Geostat said.
The growing manufacturing sector was the main contributor to the rise in PPI;
