   The stalemate over the lack of a clear policy on 5G roll-out in Russia continues, as local operators are likely to be obliged to use domestic equipment only in the 24.25-24.5HZ frequency range​, ​Vedomosti d​ aily reported on Septeber 21, citing unnamed sources familiar with the decision of the State Commission of Radio Frequencies. However, no domestic equipment is available at the moment, and the Rostec state technology agency does not expect to start the production of 5G equipment before 2024.
    The Russian tourism sector could lose $8bn-9bn in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic​, ​Vedomosti​ daily wrote on September 30 citing estimates by the Russian Union of Tourism Industries. So far the losses from closed borders are estimated at $7bn, and could increase to $8bn-9bn by the end of the year. As reported by ​bne IntelliNews​, the aviation and tourism industries are seen as the worst hit by the COVID-19.
