In the first half of 2024, supplies of cars from China to Russia increased by 35.4% and amounted to $6.2bn. This is according to the data published by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China. Chinese-made car exports to Russia have been growing monthly for the fourth month in a row. In June, the volume of their deliveries to Russia amounted to $1.36bn, exceeding the May result by 2%. This is the highest figure since November 2023 ($1.38bn). In June, lorries were sold for the total of $298mn, which is 13.4% more than in May 2024. This is a record volume since July 2023 ($376mn). At the same time, in January-June 2024, deliveries of all vehicles in this segment decreased by 23.9% ($1.3bn). In addition, in June, car components from China sold in Russia were worth a record $234.2mn. This is an increase of 15.9% compared to May. Exports of components to Russia have also been growing for the fourth month in a row. On July 22, Russia's National Agency for Industrial Statistics reported that, according to the baseline forecast, almost 1.1mn cars could be sold in Russia by the end of 2024 , which is 5.9% more than last year.
