Purchases of Citroen cars manufactured by the Kaluga PSMA plant decreased slightly in money (by 5% to 33.1 million rubles), but increased in the number of tenders from six to eight. Xcite cars (a sub-brand of the Chinese Chery) and Aurus were not found in the public part of state purchases in the first half of the year. The total amounts by brand are calculated based on the initial maximum prices of contracts in tenders held in 2023 and 2024, respectively. The average price of a contract for the supply of motor vehicles under 44-FZ and 223-FZ for the reporting period increased year-on-year by 3% to 7.2 million rubles.

The Association of European Businesses (AEB) has raised its forecast for sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia in 2024 by 12% to 1.45mn cars, the association said in a statement.
"Taking into account various economic, regulatory, political factors and, assuming that sanctions and other pressure will remain at the same level until the end of the year, the Automobile Manufacturers Committee updates its forecast for 2024 at the level of 1.45mn sold new cars," the statement said.
