Russia and China. "Given the conversations with Putin and Xi, I believe that now there is a better chance that all possible proposals regarding the ceasefire and the road map of peace negotiations will be received positively.” According to Orban, Europe should come up with a peaceful initiative to end the war in Ukraine without waiting for an offer from the US.
Russia will not attend a second planned international summit on peace in Ukraine because it will ignore Moscow’s proposals, a senior diplomat said July 11. Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told the state-run news agency RIA Novosti that the first summit attended by more than 90 countries in Switzerland last month had “failed.” Moscow and its ally China snubbed the event, while some of the major participants did not sign a communique calling for peace talks and supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity. “We’re aware of the intentions of the Kyiv regime and its Western curators to ‘rehabilitate’ themselves for the failed ’peace summit’... and try to hold a similar event [and] invite Russia,” Galuzin told RIA Novosti. Ukraine has said it could invite Moscow to the next summit if it was prepared to consider Ukraine’s roadmap to peace and stop issuing ultimatums.
Turkey is paying diplomatic effort to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and favours the resumption of the Istanbul peace process, President Tayyip Erdogan told reporters in Washington on the sidelines of the Nato summit. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced that he is continuing his "peacekeeping mission" and met with the President of Turkey in Washington. He called Istanbul an "indispensable player" in peacemaking efforts. Orbán also asked Recep Erdogan to "join the peacekeeping mission." However, Turkey does not plan to abandon the balancing act it maintains between Nato membership, improving relations with Russia, and its status as an ally of Ukraine. Erdogan demonstrates a "policy of balance." He met last week with Russian dictator Putin in Kazakhstan. This week, he participates in the Nato summit dedicated to the Russian threat. Turkey maintains ties with Moscow and does not observe sanctions against Russia. The country supplies Kyiv with drones and warships but continues to buy Russian oil and gas. The president of the American Institute for Foreign Policy Studies says that "Turkey seeks to minimize tensions in relations with Russia, keep Nato as far away from the region as possible, and control any potential escalation."
If former US President Donald Trump has a plan to end the Russian-Ukrainian war quickly, he should talk about it today. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy said this in an interview with Bloomberg,
