weapons to a combat zone to strike our territory... then why don't we have the right to supply comparable weapons to regions where they could be used to strike sensitive targets of countries that do this to Russia?" Vladimir Putin said.
The EU will punish Hungary to help Ukraine's accession to the bloc.
Hungary will not retain its current position as an enlargement commissioner in the new European Commission. As diplomats told Politico, the EC is tired of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's constant obstructionism regarding Ukraine, and his fellow leaders in the EU plan to punish him by giving the country a weaker presence in the next EC. Hungary wants to keep its enlargement role, which has held significant influence resulting from the EU's negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the bloc. Now, national governments are against a Hungarian politician continuing in this important role. As we know, Orbán remains Russian President Putin's closest ally in the EU, and European leaders are becoming increasingly irritated by his undermining of policy and resistance to providing assistance to Ukraine. In recent months, Orbán "made attempts to block aid to Ukraine and threatened the negotiations on its accession." In July, Hungary will take over the six-month presidency of the Council of the EU, giving them the power to set the agenda.
A draft resolution by the Russian Defence Ministry to re-draw Russia’s maritime borders in the Baltic Sea created confusion and alarm. On May 21, a resolution appeared on the Defence Ministry website proposing changes to the coordinates of the Russian border. This included expanding Russian control in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland, as well as parts of the Baltic Sea off of Kaliningrad. The exact coordinates for the proposed border were not published. The Defence Ministry justified the potential change by claiming that the existing border lines are outdated. According to the draft resolution, the current borders were “determined from small-scale nautical charts compiled from materials of works of the mid-20th century, and do not fully correspond to the modern geographical situation.” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that there was “nothing political” about the proposed changes.

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that Russia could supply weapons to other countries that would use them against Western nations, if the allies continue to supply Ukraine with weapons on June 5. "If someone thinks it is possible to supply such weapons to a war zone to attack our territory and create problems for us, why don’t we have the right to supply our weapons," Putin stated during a press conference in St Petersburg.
