2.10.2 Industrial production
Serbia’s industrial output expanded by an annual 3% in September
(latest figures available), slowing from a 5.8% y/y growth in the previous month (chart).
When compared to the average for 2022, industrial output in September was higher by 3.1%.
In the first nine months of 2023, industrial production went up by 2.4%, compared with the same period earlier.
However, there was a decrease in September compared to August 2023, in the seasonally adjusted index, of 1.1%. The seasonally adjusted index in the manufacturing sector grew by 1% m/m.
Breaking down the data by sectors, in the ninth month of the year, the mining and quarrying sector’s output grew by 1.1% y/y. The manufacturing sector experienced an annual growth of 3% and the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector rose by 3.9% y/y.
