Russia’s Nexign modernises Uzbektelecom's billing system
Russia-based Nexign, a Business Support System (BSS) and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions provider, has announced the successful completion of a billing system modernisation project for Uzbektelecom, Uzbekistan’s leading telecommunications company.
Uzbektelecom, in 2018, faced the challenge of replacing its five separate BSS systems with a single convergent solution. The firm also aimed to reduce its time-to-market (TTM) for new products and services in order to reduce operational
costs and streamline the creation of bundles for subscribers. As such, Nexign helped Uzbektelecom reduce TTM for new products and services from two months to two weeks, helping boost the customer base by more than 1.6mn subscribers. The company's revenue per user (ARPU) jumped by 10% following its migration to Nexign’s solution.
“Modernisation of the billing system allowed Uzbektelecom to launch new services for its subscribers faster and more efficiently and improve the quality of customer service,” said Andrey Gulidin, chief commercial officer at Nexign.
Uzbektelecom’s network covers the entire country and offers mobile and fixed network services
and broadband internet access. It stands as a
key supplier of telecommunications services for government agencies. The mobile subscriber base of Uzbektelecom reached 6mn users as of August.
