Russia’s grain harvest will shrink to 120mn tonnes in 2020 from 121.2mn tonnes a year earlier, Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev told President Vladimir Putin on May 19. In January, the ministry projected a 125.3mn tonne grain harvest in the year. “Russia has harvested over 100mn tonnes of grain annually over the past six years. We have good harvest outlooks this year, too... Russia provides itself with staple food fully, it enters the global markets gradually, and is one of the world’s leading exporters in some food categories,” Putin said.
