Russia’s car market is expected to grow around 10% in 2018, the Association of European Businesses’ (AEB) CEO Frank Schauff told PRIME on December 10. The situation in other industries is more difficult, he said. According to the AEB, Russia’s sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) rose 10.1% on the year to 167,494 vehicles in November and 13.7% to 1.625mn units in January–November.
The Russian market of new cars amounted to RUB2.38 trillion in 2018, exceeding a 2013 record of RUB2.37 trillion, research agency Avtostat said in January citing preliminary data. “The capacity of the Russian market of new passenger cars was just over RUB2.38 trillion in 2018.
