This particular way of good eyesight is akin to balancing on a tightrope. In this particular case it is about the attention while balancing across the directing goal-pending light signals to the fnal goal-scored light signal. This particular signal with incentive value is taken and sought as the reward for a well-done psycho-physical task, making the reward system enter the battle as a decisive ally. The battle is fought for more autonomous-limbic integration, or its specifc feature needed to elicit sight sharpening. As it is commonly known, the autonomous nervous system is the one governing the accommodation which is an autonomous function of the eye. Since a myope normally cannot attain full accommodation, a little help from limbic resources is more than welcome.
This being said, it is equally important to pave the way to the fnal anticipated light stimulus with the supporting interim light stimuli in order to ensure dopaminergic activity which would last much more than its common brisk outbursts (see picture below). Their main role is to provide information to fne-tune the behaviour and turn its exploratory mode on. This is the mode rich in saccades, the quick ballistic eye movements representing one of the four main behaviour types of the eyes along with the fxation, smooth pursuit and vergence. But unlike the last three, the saccades are not necessarily associated with actual visual stimuli or a real object within the visual feld, thereby allowing the eyes to emancipate themselves from the environment they usually adhere to. The saccades may originate in visual anticipation, auditory stimuli, visceral sensations or a variety of mental processes.
