Delivery of Auditory Integration Training (AIT) and Lightwave Stimulation (LWS) therapies by two therapists for two school weeks
Assessment:
Hypo (under) sensitive or hyper (over) sensitive systems and developmental immaturity are recognised to be a source of social, emotional, behavioural and academic diffculties. For example, visual diffculties very often link back to the vestibular or balance system and the vestibular apparatus, which is part of the inner ear, can be infuenced by how a person hears. The effectiveness of vision is also infuenced by the strength of the eye muscles which in turn are infuenced by strong sucking as a baby. Ocular motility diffculties can often be traced back to lack of breast feeding or an under-developed suck refex. Thus, the rationale for the assessments is to gain an understanding of underlying sensory diffculties affecting the participant’s current situation.
By thoroughly assessing participants and identifying specifc weaknesses one can provide suitable methods of therapy and subsequently establish the level of improvement observed in each individual. We can then analyse the results effectively.
We strongly believe many social, emotional, behavioural and academic diffculties are attributable to sensory diffculties particularly auditory processing, visual processing or developmental diffculties. These characteristic indicators are either not necessarily identifed or suffciently
