All expectations outlined in these documents must be followed and failure to do so will result in school response and discipline. Additionally, all laws and order set forth by the federal, state, and local government and/or the health boards must be followed before, during, and after school. It is the intent of these policies and procedures to ensure the safety of our entire school community and actions that disregard that safety will not be tolerated and have consequences. This guidance is subject to change to be compliant with further health guidance or governmental orders.
Return from Illness Form
In order to return to school after being ill, parents or guardians must complete the official Return to School form.
Students who are sick should not attend school in-person or participate in extracurricular activities. Any student complaining of one or more of the following symptoms should stay home and participate in remote learning. It is highly recommended that your child be seen by a primary care provider if complaining of any symptom that persists for 3 or more days. Please provide a doctor’s note if your child has been seen by a primary care provider.
• Fever 100.0 F or greater or Chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Sore Throat
• New loss of taste or smell
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
In order to prevent the spread of illness and/or COVID-19 to staff and students, the student must be symptom free (without the use of medication) for 24 hours before resuming in-person learning and extracurricular activities:
The State of Ohio requires schools to determine when a child, who has or is suspected to have COVID-19, can return to school by following the current rules from the CDC, Ohio Department of Health and their local Health Department. Padua will follow the most current CDC guidelines and work with the state and local health departments to promote positive public health outcomes. • Students must notify the school of COVID-19 test results (must isolate while awaiting results) • Students who are presumed positive for COVID-19 must notify the school and isolate in accordance with
CDC guidelines (if testing is not available) • Students who have close contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19 or are suspected to have COVID-19 must notify the school and quarantine in accordance with CDC guidelines
A parent/guardian signature is required to resume in-person learning and extracurricular activities. Your signature indicates that the student has been symptom free (without the use of medication) for 24 hours and is able to resume in-person learning.
CURRICULUM AND COURSES
The Padua Course Catalog is issued each winter. A copy is given to each current freshman during registration week; upper class students may access the Course Catalog online at www.paduafranciscan.com. The curriculum and courses are explained in that publication.
