Being born in Australia, Rob Partridge travelled extensively through Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, and Oceania over two decades and ended up migra3ng permanently to India in the mid-00s. His early days were filled with snorkelling, surfing, and of course diving.
Having personally cer3fied 1000s of people from many different countries and backgrounds, and having completed over 9000 dives, Rob was instrumental in expanding the vast poten3al of diving in Pondicherry, Chennai, and of course India, to both the domes3c and interna3onal public.
Establishing Temple Adventures in 2008 - which is this year celebra3ng it’s 10 year anniversary the year of this book release – led to a dive opera3on which has now trained over 4000 cer3fied divers, taken out over 6,000 fun divers, and made it possible for over 12,000 non-swimmers to try out scuba diving in the ocean water of the Bay of Bengal.
He is a qualified Master Instructor, Technical Dive Instructor, First Aid Instructor Trainer, and has various instructor ra3ngs from many interna3onal dive agencies. Also, his mechanical background and technical training, plus current OEM factory qualifica3ons, has led to his current path of educa3on in diving equipment and gas crea3on systems for industry leaders, for both trainees and trainers. Of course, he conducts formal seminars for this, but also will project manage and build anything that is required for another water sports, or high-pressure gas filling opera3on.
He has facilitated and assisted defence training all around India, in Navy, Coast Guard, Marine Police, and even Army training. This is both in diving ac3vi3es, and technical training. Also, he and his team have worked in many films Hollywood; Bollywood; Kollywood; and local, notably ‘Life of Pi’ (English), ‘Theri’ (Tamil), and Rani (French).
As the opera3on grew, Rob thought of CSR and giving back to our oceans, and thus designed non-profit conserva3on organisa3on to be established, which has spawned out of Temple Adventures Dive Centre and apply called Temple Reef
