This federally designated National Scenic Byway circles through the ancient Puebloan (Anasazi) Country of southeastern Utah, and then continues into Colorado, to Mesa Verde and Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. Typically it takes five days to explore this area, but shorter and longer trips can also be enjoyable as well.
Major stops include:
Butler Wash and Mule Canyon Indian Ruins: These ruins are located along Highway 95, between
Blanding and Natural Bridges National Monument. F
SCENIC BYWAYS
Edge of the Cedars State Park and Museum: Located in Blanding.
Four Corners Monument: This is the only spot in the U.S. where four states share a common geographic
point (Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado). It is located on Navajo land and is a Tribal Park. Gooseneck State Park: Located along Highway 261, south of the Moki Dugway.
Grand Gulch Primitive Area: Located west of Highway 261, south of Natural Bridges.
Historic Community of Bluff: Located northeast of Monument Valley, along Highway 163. Hovenweep National Monument: Located on the Utah/Colorado border.
Monument Valley Tribal Park: Located on the Utah/Arizona border along Highway 163.
Natural Bridges National Monument: Located along Highway 95, west of Blanding.
Three Kiva Pueblo: Located along Road B146 in Montezuma Creek Canyon, north of the Hovenweep Road. Valley of the Gods: This route puts travelers on Highway 163, between Bluff and Mexican Hat.
