Established in 1911 and built on the site of the first pioneer encampment in St. George, Dixie State University strives to help students define, shape, and achieve educational and life goals. Dixie State University is dedicated
to providing excellent personalized instruction in a learning environment where students can become passionate about their individual educational endeavors.
Dixie State University currently offers 52 undergraduate programs and a wide range of highly sought after baccalaureate programs, associate degrees, and certificate programs. In the coming years they hope to expand their baccalaureate degrees and offer selected graduate degrees. DSU also has the lowest in-state and out-of- state tuition costs of any of Utah’s four-year institutions.
Roster of Programs
Currently, Dixie State University students can earn baccalaureate degrees in these schools of study: Business and Communication, Education, Health Sciences, Humanities, Science and Technology, and Visual and Performing Arts.

Dixie State also offers a number of adult education opportunities. The Institute for Continued Learning (ICL) is also available for retired and semi- retired individuals, as is the DSU Road Scholar program.
Cultural and Business
Enhancements
Community involvement is a key ingredient to the success of Dixie State University. DSU provides many cultural opportunities for the community, many of which are now featured in the university’s state-of-the-art Eccles Fine Arts Center. The University also sponsors a Celebrity Concert Series, the annual Sears Dixie Invitational
Art Show, the Tanner Amphitheater Summer Concert Series at the mouth of nearby Zion National Park, and the Southwest Symphony and Chorale. DSU has also forged partnerships with the Southern Utah Heritage Choir. For information on tickets, call

Dixie State Athletics recently transitioned from the Junior College ranks to the NCAA Division II
competition level. In 2007–08, Dixie State began to play in the Pacific West Conference, which includes teams from Hawaii, California, Arizona, and now Utah. In addition, the DSU football team joined the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC), which features programs from California, Oregon, and Washington.
At the NJCAA level, Dixie State’s athletic programs consistently enjoyed time in the national spotlight. Since 2000, the university’s athletic teams have won four national championships in women’s soccer (2000/2003), men’s basketball (2002), and men’s baseball (2004). Now in the PWC Dixie State has won titles in men’s golf (2015/2016/2018), men’s soccer (2016), men’s basketball (2011/2012/2013/2015/2018), baseball (2011/2014/2015), softball (2011/2013/2014/2015), and volleyball (2015).
