“Oh, Grandpa,” sighed the girl. “I wanted to grow a fruit tree on the mountain, so I planted a pip.
But it was a silly waste of time!”
“It was a lovely idea,” said her grandpa. “But the mountain is too dry for anything much to grow. And besides, a pip can’t sprout overnight! It takes days or even weeks.”
“Oh!” said the girl. “In that case, I will plant some more! And this time, I will water them.”
