The Cooper Gallery opened in 1914 and today is a vibrant venue in the heart of Barnsley town centre
It is the perfect place to discover art and changing exhibitions.
It is home to the Cooper Gallery Trustees’ collection of stunning
paintings, watercolours and drawings
by artists including JMW Turner, Edward Wadsworth, Vanessa Bell and many more.
The gallery has undergone a major re-development and extension thanks to a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
There are now many more art treasures on display alongside lm, sound, interactives and many more resources for visitors of all ages to enjoy.
The gallery shop is the perfect place to pick up a gift or treat with a fantastic range of arts and crafts made by Yorkshire artists.
