If so then 3D Design at Runshaw is the subject for you! Over the past seven years there has been a 100% pass rate and in our last inspection, 3D Design gained a Grade 1 classification from Ofsted.
The 3D Design year culminates in the end
of year public exhibition which displays an amazing array of students’ work produced over the entire course, and is something that all our staff and students look forward to.
What will I study?
3D Design is an art based course, where you will use specialist 3D workshops to explore materials and create three dimensional work using a broad range of materials and techniques.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of creative projects using the work
of artists and designers and other sources
to inspire your own ideas. You will explore complex issues and context within design, how these impact on design and how to develop your initial ideas to a resolved outcome.
Some of the specialist areas you will study are:
• architecture
• sculpture
• product design • furniture design • lighting design • ceramics
• jewellery design
How is the course assessed?
• 60% coursework
• 40% externally set examination
