What will I learn?
The course is designed for students considering studying Health and Social Care as an option in the future and want to know what it is like to work in a care setting. It is an introductory course and will allow you to learn about not only the Health and Social Care industry, but also about your own skills and qualities. Some of the units covered in this course include; communication skills, working in Health and Social Care, and working with others in Health and Social Care.
As part of the course you will also study English and Maths to enhance your employability skills.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment takes place throughout the course in a variety of ways, including posters, presentations and written assignments.
What enrichment can I look forward to?
Voluntary work, induction activities, and team building, guest speakers from industry, trips and visits, access to all college enrichment activities.
What progression is there?
Successful completion of the course and additional qualifications may lead to progression within college or onto an Apprenticeship.
