Local man Chris Mapp transformed this old public house in Barlow into the award-winning Gastro Pub, known for producing dishes which can only be described as “deliciously Derbyshire”. The Tickled Trout specialises in dishes with an Italian inspiration that are prepared by talented chefs using only the finest artisan ingredients available.

If you’re in Barlow and fancy a delicious homemade scone or freshly made panini, this is the place to be. The Hackney House Café is situated inside a 300-year-old building – making it possibly one of the oldest tea rooms in the UK.

Peacock Inn
