   WHIRLOW WINE
We love a visit to Whirlow Farm in Sheffield, especially their fabulous farm shop which sells farm raised meat and local artisan food items. The farm have their own grapevines and this year, for the first time,
the resulting rose and red wine is available to buy in the shop – priced at £15 a bottle with half of the
cost going directly to the farm’s charitable trust.

 A GEM OF A FIND
A gift of jewellery is even more special when it’s locally crafted and totally unique. Local designer and maker Sally Ratcliffe’s pieces certainly
fulfil that brief. We love this unusual torque style bracelet which can
be personalised with a choice of gemstones. Silver bracelet, £264, Sally Ratcliffe, www.sallyratcliffe.co.uk
ON YER BIKE
This Kensington Volt electric bicycle may look vintage but don’t be fooled by its classic looks. Powered by a 250w motor and integrated lithium battery, it offers 60 miles of smooth riding as well as Shimano gears and
an LCD screen to personalise your ride. It is expensive but if your bike is an alternative to having a car then this award-winning model is the one to go for. £1,599, www.voltbikes.co.uk
CHRISTMAS IN THE CAVES
For something a little different to do this Christmas season, why not
take your family or friends to a concert in one of Derbyshire’s many amazing cave systems. Treak Cliff Cavern, near Castleton, hosts festive carol services by candlelight in the caves whilst nearby Peak Cavern offers a range of events including carol services, live music and outdoor cinema. See www.bluejohnstone.co.uk and www.peakcavern.co.uk for dates and to buy tickets.
