Programs: Outbreak Edulink offers a variety of very popular, Standard Programs to choose from, but we do retain a degree of flexibility in order to continue serving the changing / special interest needs of some of our customers. Our itineraries can therefore be easily adapted to include certain preferred outings and activities on special request. Our Linguistic Eco-Educational Programs are the most popular, and combines a local school interaction and family stay of one week, with an eco-educational discovery of the chosen destination. These programs also involve structured language tuition. We also offer Eco-Educational Programs without the family stay, which is often more appropriate for special interest groups (for the SVT and BTS for example), as well as SEGPA and Primary School groups.
Program duration: Between 10 and 15 days as a standard. Trips can be scheduled for any time of the the year.
Program destinations: The Mpumalanga Province (which includes Gauteng, Mpumalanga Escarpment, Limpopo and Kruger National Park) and the Western Cape Province (which includes Cape Town, the Garden Route, and Oudtshoorn). We now also offer Namibia as a new destination (Windhoek, Swakopmund and Etosha National Park).
Host Families: Our host families are carefully selected, a process that usually involves the active participation of the headmaster, tutors, and subject teachers within each of the South African schools that we work with. Visitors are always hosted by pupils of more or less the same age. Outbreak Edulink do not pay their host families, but instead rewards their participation by incorporating them into a broader fundraising initiative, which eventually provides all the participating hosts with the rare opportunity to partake in an annual Exchange Return Trip to Reunion Island.
Personal Guide: Outbreak Edulink provides each group of visitors with a qualified Tour Leader, who welcomes the group on arrival at the airport, and then physically accompanies the group for the duration af their Program. The tour leader is tasked with the smooth facilitation of the program itinerary, and also needs to act as the guide and informer. This allows the teachers complete freedom to interact with, and to look after the wellbeing of, their students.
Transport: By means of fully chartered, semi-luxury, air-conditioned busses. The size of the bus is usually adapted to the size of the group. The bus and bus driver are exclusively allocated to the group for the duration of the Program.
Local School: Outbreak Edulink works in partnership with a number of South African schools, public and private, in all destinations. This enables us to provide visitors with a fully authentic interactive experience in this regard.
