What can you do during your Tenure of Service as a Titleholder to impact your community? I want to make a difference and have been working on a plan for my year. I want to encourage kindness towards everyone, including animals. I already spend a lot of time at my local shelter, but I would love the opportunity to bring awareness to animals in shelters nationwide.
What has been your involvement with your platform? I started working with the Humane Society as a 5th grader. I help solicit adopters through social media and volunteer at the shelter whenever possible, typically several times a month. I clean pens, tidy up the cat room, and mop. I also love socializing with the animals.
What inspired you to first become involved in your platform? My local shelter had put out a post looking for volunteers. I love animals, and this was an excellent way for me to spend time with them. My Mom also hoped it would stop me from constantly asking for new pets, but it hasn’t.
If you are selected as the winner, how would you mobilize and market your platform nationally? I want to create both volunteer recruitment and donation drives. The Humane Society is a national organization, so I would reach out to discuss spokesmodel opportunities.
How would you utilize social media in order to positively further your position as a titleholder if you are selected as the winner? First, I’d like to grow the following on the @misstnteenvolunteer account to at least 2500 followers. I hope to post photos of pets in need of adoption, highlight current volunteers, and create FAQs about being a volunteer, foster, and adoptee.
