What can you do during your Tenure of Service as a Titleholder to impact your community?
My goal during my tenure of service would be to share the importance of both physical & mental health. Physical & mental health are equally important. I would love to reach as many people as possible through social media, fundraisers & speaking engagements.
What has been your involvement with your platform?
As the creator of my platform, I enjoy sharing encouraging words of positivity. I want to be a voice for individuals that go through difficult circumstances. I have made weekly encouraging posts that promote my platform. Three days a week I share posts that have a theme for those days of the week. Each day had a unique name that ties in with my platform, Let’s Connect ; Mind & Body Health. Monday is Mental Health Monday, Wednesday is Wellness Wednesday, and Friday is Fitness Friday. I enjoy speaking at schools and events about the importance of both physical and mental health.
What inspired you to first become involved in your platform?
I created my platform Let’s Connect ; Mind & Body Health as a result of a unexpected event in my life. My platform holds a special place in my heart. My life was forever changed when I found my father deceased of a massive heart attack. After his passing in August 2021, my mission became to educate others on the importance of mental & physical health. My main goal is to encourage my peers & adults of all ages to take care of their physical & mental health.
If you are selected as the winner, how would you mobilize and market your platform nationally?
Social media is a great avenue to share the importance of physical & mental health. After the Covid-19 pandemic, people have become more isolated. Education about mental & physical health is now more important than it has ever been. I believe the message of taking care of yourself mentally & physically is an important message that needs to be shared.
How would you utilize social media in order to positively further your position as a titleholder if you are selected as the winner?
If I were selected as a state titleholder, I would continue to make encouraging posts on social media. These encouraging posts would promote each & every individual to take care of themselves both physically and mentally. I would also try to get my social media followers to interact with my posts. For example, I would love to be able to hear about what each person did on “Mental Health Monday” to help improve their mental health. I think it’s very important to not only speak to your audience, but get them involved as well.
