What can you do during your Tenure of Service as a Titleholder to impact your community? As a titleholder, I plan to use my platform to further my own personal service platform and educate those in my community. By attending schools, speaking with children and adults about the safe ways to use social media, I can spread awareness for something that is more of an issue than we think. There are also many events held regularly within my community that I can be involved in, to help give back to those that need it.
What has been your involvement with your platform? My platform is new for me, but I do have plans to further expand and implement it as a titleholder. I have been involved in many other service opportunities and organizations in the past.
What inspired you to first become involved in your platform? Growing up in a social media culture, I have seen the many negative things that social media can be associated with. Personally, I use it to involve loved ones into my life, but there are many abusing it. This is something I have witnessed many times and I want to help educate younger generations about this topic. I can use my voice and the platform of the Miss Tennessee Iris Teen Volunteer Pageant to share with others what really matters to me.
If you are selected as the winner, how would you mobilize and market your platform nationally? As a titleholder, I would travel and make appearances representing the Miss Volunteer America Pageant. I can also speak to many people about my platform and this amazing program. I would also be able to use social media to market and share about my platform.
How would you utilize social media in order to positively further your position as a titleholder if you are selected as the winner? As a student studying Strategic Communications and social media, this allows me to understand social media and how to use it as a platform to educate others. With having a platform based on social media, I can demonstrate to others how to be responsible and to show how social media can be used in a positive way.
