Mark Masiello Memorial - Offensive Player of the Year
The Mark Masiello Memorial Award is given in memory of Mark, quarterback and co-captain of the 1982 state championship football team. The award was originally presented to the "Most Valuable Player" of the St. Joseph vs. Fairfield Prep football game. The award was first presented in 1985. After the end of the Prep-St. Joseph rivalry, the Mark Masiello Award was presented to the Fairfield Prep football player, who, in the judgment of the coaching staff was the "Most Valuable Player" for the season. In 2003, the coaching staff adapted the award to the Outstanding Offensive Player as a compliment to the Fr. Brissette Defensive Player Award. It is presented in memory of Mark, an outstanding young man and exceptional football player, respected by his teammates, coaches, classmates and his opponents.
