NEVADA AREA COUNCIL CAMP FLEISCHMANN
                                    CAMP FLEISCHMANN 2021 and COVID-19

One of the biggest concerns that parents, scout leaders and anyone who is planning on attending a
summer camp in 2021 is how safe is it?

The Nevada Area Council is committed to the health and safety of all participants in attendance at
     Camp Fleischmann this summer.

Policies and procedures that are found in the CDC’s resident camp summary, those of the BSA
camping standards for Bechtel Summit, Northern Tier and Sea Base are the basis for the health and
safety procedures being implemented at Camp Fleischmann this summer.

Mitigation efforts include unit pre-camp screening of attendees before arrival at camp. Also, on
arrival, all participants will undergo additional screening before even being admitted into camp.
COVID-19 vaccinations are not mandatory but are highly recommended.

During their stay at camp, individuals will need to practice social distancing, wearing of masks,
frequently washing of hands and following all other policies developed to protect them.

All aspects of the camp are being reviewed, from the programs offered, water front behavior,
sleeping/tenting criteria, to food service. All staff will be trained in COVID policies and procedures.

Medical staff will be present to assist in screening and identifying those with COVID like symptoms.
Note that there is no capability of housing potential COVID victims. They will need to go home or go
     to the nearest medical facility.

As you are aware, this is very fluid and plans are being updated constantly.

Be assured that Camp Fleischmann will be as COVID safe as possible, but in the end, it is the
responsibility of the parents/guardians to determine what is the best course for the health and safety of
     themselves and their youth.
