LISTEN TO WHAT I'M TRYING TO TELL YA!!! That train... I
worked for Union Pacific few months laying down track east of the Missouri River. Sioux, Arapaho and Cheyenne tribes threatened by the white man and his “iron horse” across their native lands, put a holt to laying more track after a year- causing all trains to go south. Some tracks on the way to Arizona were layed but not fully complete causing gaps in the layer which can cause a jolt. Not having money - I would hop on local trains to catch a quick ride to Miller’s Landing looking for money. Centerville was the point where it slowed down at that jolt just a bit so the wheels can match up on the track. Thats when you hop on. That day you talk'n `bout was different.

I didn't want to get on it that morning. I felt a sickness
in my gut. I just knew something bad was coming. But Gus really wanted to hop. Said he wanted to feel the wind cooling his face standing there on the back of that caboose. He had never been on a train before so I knew this would be something special for him to remember. We could hear her coming...
(TRAIN approaches)

... and there she was! Right there up on us passing by... SO
WE TOOK OFF RUNNING!
