All of a sudden Robert Reeves grabbed him by the shirt collar
and they got into a mean scrap! You cocked your fist back knocking young Reeves in the throat. BOOM! One punch he hits the ground. Grabbing his neck gasping for God’s air. I dont know if you remember but you looked at me in particular. Split second. Then BOOM! You cut dirt. Gone!
(Levi Laughs)
LEVI
I'm sitting there in shock. Can’t move. Think’n to myself
“A slave just beat up his master - unchained.” So I jumps up in excitement and Master John quickly points his pistol at me saying “ boy... if you don’t want a bullet up your ass dont’ get any bright ideas!” (Laughs) Young Reeves just a walloping in the dirt rolling around in his own spit airin’ the paunch.
(All the men laugh)
LEVI DAMN! It is good to see you.
(LEVI gives BASS a big hug)
LEVI I never knew your name.
(Suddenly the doors fling open. GUS COLTON enters. He’s overly slow and has an intellectual disability. He’s wearing a HOLSTER with no GUN)
GUS
Me and Frank tied the horses up in the back. Real tight!
Gave em fresh water and some hay. Ole Blue couldn’t stop drinking.(Laughs) He tried to take Rosie and Pedro’s hay but they what’n having it.
LEVI
You and Frank have a seat at that table.
(LEVI points to an empty table)

Barman! Drinks on me!!! Toasting an old friend here.
