2025 PRESIDENT
MARCH MILESTONES: CELEBRATING ENGAGEMENT, ELECTIONS, AND EXCITING EVENTS AHEAD
After two remarkably busy months, we have finally had a chance to catch our breath. January and February were filled with travel and events and March has come in like a lamb. While we were in Austin at the Capitol and Las Vegas for the NAHB Leadership Meetings and the International Builders Show, we have been busy getting ready for two of our premier events of the year, the Crawfish Boil, and Fishing Tournament. Both events are coming along nicely with great participation from both our builder and associate members.
We are now at the dawn of the local elections and there will be a lot of turnover this year. The Association has been monitoring all the new and incumbent candidates and will continue the process as the election season continues. A contingency of GSABA senior officers and members attended a Mayoral Forum this month that featured eight of the expected twenty-seven candidates for mayor this year. There are many issues facing our industry that will be driven by the new mayor and council locally and we must have a presence in the process. Voting day is May 3rd, 2025, so mark your calendars.
We hosted a very well attended fundraising luncheon for Dr. Sukh Kaur, City Councilwoman for District One on Monday, March 24th. We are grateful for her continued support and leadership on the San Antonio City Council. Thank you to everyone who attended and donated to help reelect Councilwoman Kaur.
March has ushered in a refreshing sense of normalcy, marked by a successful Membership Mixer hosted by Cody Pools. We enjoyed a fantastic turnout of current members, new members, and prospective members, demonstrating that our recruiting efforts are gaining momentum as we gear up for the significant membership drive in April.
Participants in our recruitment initiatives can look forward to exciting prizes and giveaways, including a chance to win a special cruise! Recruit eight new members to earn a ticket for an exclusive cruise experience with other top recruiters. If you bring in twelve new members, you’ll receive a ticket and half off another for a guest. Recruit fifteen new members, and you’ll be rewarded with two cruise tickets!

The funds generated from these events support our essential work to protect, promote, and advocate for our industry.
