  JEFF CZAR President
Join Us for the 3PAC Event
Wednesday, October 7th
In the midst of our current political environment, we need to be more involved on the local, state and national levels more now than ever. The Greater San Antonio Builders Association (GSABA) Board of Directors and Government Affairs leadership team meet often to discuss what is happening in City Halls across our 22-county jurisdiction, at the State Capitol and in Washington, DC. One of the hot topics of discussion has been the upcoming elections in November.
We have set a lofty goal of not only raising significant funds, but to meet face to face with key incumbents and candidates prior to the November elections. We must come together as an industry to support pro-housing and pro- business candidates. Our goal is to share critical information on the residential housing and remodeling industry with our elected officials and the candidates who are in runoff elections (or running unopposed) in November.
We met with Tony Gonzales on Friday, August 21st, the Republican candidate running for Congressional District 23, the seat currently held by retiring Congressman Will Hurd who has been a great friend of GSABA’s and the residential construction industry.
Tony is a 20-year veteran of the United States Navy, who rose to the Navy’s highest enlisted rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. Tony’s opponent is Gina Ortiz Jones who advanced from the Democratic Primary and ran against Congressman Hurd in the last election. We strongly support Tony Gonzales and urge you to get out and vote for Tony on November 3rd.
We are scheduling face to face meetings with several members of our Congressional delegation over the next two months as well as our Texas elected officials and we invite you to join us. Please reach out to Kristi for the dates and times for these meetings.
Without our active political participation, decisions affecting the future of the residential construction and development industry will be influenced by outside interests and activist groups, many of whom represent interests directly opposed to our own.
Please join me and the GSABA leadership team for a fundraiser on Wednesday, October 7th to raise funds to support Republican and Democratic candidates who will listen to our concerns, champion our issues, and protect homeownership. I want to personally invite you to this important event that kicks off at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 7th at the San Antonio Gun Club. You do not have to participate in the shoot to contribute. Our goal is to raise $30,000 in personal funds for our local, state, and national Political Action Committees (PACS).
Thank you to the members who have committed to the 3 PAC event. It is only through the voluntary contributions of our members that we can help preserve a positive political climate for the homebuilding and land development industry.
Sincerely,
 “
