   EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
CALLING ALL MEMBERS
We need your support!
Your Association has managed through this pandemic extremely well because of YOU! It goes without saying that we did ride through a bumpy road, but what is important to remember is that we did it together and this has made us all much stronger. We could not do what we do without our Leadership Team, Board of Directors, Past Presidents, Committee Chairs, and our MEMBERS.
2020 has shown all of us just how tough we are! The residential construction industry has withstood the last year better than most industries. We all know people that have been affected by COVID-19 and we grieve the loss of several GSABA members, loved ones and friends.
It is time to hit the refresh button and begin to re-engage with our membership. We are returning to hosting our events and mixers as safely as possible following all the necessary protocols. We will kick-off with Rally Day in April which is scheduled for in-person meetings in Austin on Tuesday, April 13th. We have heard from many members that you are ready to get back to some resemblance of normalcy.
GSABA has a proven track record of making our voices heard on the local, state, and national levels. The next two months are critical as we face the final days of the 87th Legislative Session in Austin, host Bringing Housing Home with our Congressmen and Senators who represent us in Washington on Capitol Hill and work with county governments and city halls throughout our 22-county region. Our Mayor and City Council are facing reelection and we are meeting with each San Antonio City Council representative prior to the general election on Saturday, May 1st.
We need your support of Rally Day on Tuesday, April 13th in Austin. We have an incredible turnout from our state elected officials at the DoubleTree Hotel, across the street from the Capitol. We have secured an oversized luxury bus to drive our members to Austin leaving from the Association parking lot at 8:30am on April 13th and returning that evening. We have ample meeting space to include four large meeting rooms to socially distance at each of these meetings and follow the CDC’s sanitation guidelines. If you prefer to drive your car, we will pay for your valet. Our advocacy efforts are critical to defending the interest of home builders and those involved in the housing industry.
We have an upcoming networking opportunity at the 2021 Parade of Homes co-hosted by Jay Patterson and Southerland Communities in Belle Oaks. Join us for an incredible dinner and tour nine beautiful homes at the Preview Party on Friday evening, May 21st in Belle Oaks from 6pm-10pm. There is ample parking, and the parade site is the largest we have had to date. Masks will be required inside each home but not outside on the parade streets. There is more information on how to purchase Preview Party tickets at www.sabuilders.com .
KRISTI SUTTERFIELD
The unprecedented challenges we have faced over the past several months have dramatically changed the way we live, work, and spend our time off.
Please mark Tuesday, May 18th on your calendars as we host a membership rally – join us and be part of something that will make a difference in the industry that we love!
We are grateful for YOU!
Warm regards,
