DON’T MISS THE 3PAC FUNDRAISER ON SEPTEMBER 18TH
Elected officials nationwide are motivated by two things: the individuals who vote for them and those who communicate with them. We pride ourselves on communicating with our local, state, and national elected officials several times a year, and our goal is to meet with each of our elected representatives in person three times a year.
Your Association’s executive team came together in 2019 under the leadership of GSABA Past Presidents Wayne Moravits and Ed Berlanga to host our annual Political Action Committee (PAC) event. Our 3 PAC Fundraiser Clay Shoot event will be held on Wednesday, September 18th, at the San Antonio Gun Club. This is one of the most important events we host each year. Teams are still available, and you can sign up at www.sabuilders.com.
We need every GSABA member to support the elected officials who champion the residential homebuilding, remodeling, and development industry by contributing to our local San Antonio Builders Political Action Committee (PAC), the Texas Association of Builders (TAB) HOMEPAC, and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) BUILD-PAC. The 3 PAC Clay Shoot is our biggest PAC fundraising event, and your support is crucial to our advocacy efforts.
PACS have been an important part of our democracy for over 80 years. PACs exist to raise money from like-minded individuals to contribute to candidates’ campaigns and advocate for members’ common interests. Most PACs focus on policy, not politics. PACs are one of the most regulated campaign finance entities in the country. The Federal Election Commission (FEC) and other independent groups closely monitor PAC contributions and expenditures.
Over the past few years, we have grown our local PAC, increased our contributions to HOMEPAC and BUILD-PAC, and continued supporting and endorsing pro-business and pro-housing candidates and incumbents. I firmly believe that every person who makes a living in an industry owes part of their time, talent, and resources to that industry.
You can make a difference by writing a personal check for $300 to SABPAC. Your contribution will help us support HOMEPAC and BUILD-PAC and meet our goals on the state and national levels as well. local, state, and national elected officials. We had a great turnout last year and hope to have a larger turnout in 2024.
If Clay Shoots are not your thing, please join us for networking and dinner at 5:00 pm. Don’t miss the scotch and bourbon tasting (among other beverages) and bring your appetites for incredible food catered by Black Tie Affairs. I want to extend a special thank you to our Chairman, Ed Berlanga, with Texas Homes and our Co-Chair, Eric Bernal, with Factory Builder Stores along with the Executive Team who helps us exceed our fundraising goal each year and to all of our 3 PAC sponsors.
