THE PARADE OF HOMESTM IN COUNTRY VILLAGE ESTATES WAS A SUCCESS!
We just wrapped up the 2023 Parade of Homes in Country Village Estates in Castroville, Texas. It was a crazy few weeks with over 4,000 attendees during the 10-day event this year. We had six amazing builders participate in the Parade of Homes and five luxury homes on the tour.
The Parade of Homes is a great way for the Greater San Antonio Builders Association (GSABA) to showcase our members and the residential construction industry. We were blessed to have Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU) as our presenting partner this year—their support made a true difference. SSFCU also sponsored our Realtor Luncheon with 350+ Realtors in attendance. They had water bottles delivered to every Parade home on the tour and provided clear bags for us to give out the Parade Style Magazine to all attendees.
Hollywood Crawford Garage Doors and Openers and CPS Energy continue to support and participate in the Association’s activities and sponsor several key events, including this year’s Parade. We are grateful for Randy Oliver and his team at Hollywood Crawford and Shawn Cobb and Robby Paysinger and the entire CPS Energy team for their partnerships.
The North Park Family of Dealerships has been a long-time partner of GSABA and the Parade of Homes, and this year, the cars, trucks, and SUV’s WOWED the crowd with over nine vehicles sold in less than ten days! It was fun to see all the new Lincolns, Lexus, Subarus, and Chevys. North Park hosted our Friday Night Date Night, where Parade visitors enjoyed food and drinks while touring the homes.
The Parade kicks off every year with a VIP Preview Party for GSABA members and special guests. The weather for the May 19th event was perfect. Black Tie Catering served a delicious buffet with carving stations. Many thanks to our Preview Party partners: Builders FirstSource, Amarillo National Bank, and Aligned Mortgage. It is with their help that we were able to host such an incredible event. Awards were presented with
KRISTI SUTTERFIELD
and contribution to our Association.
Zaidan Custom Homes won the award for Best Master EnSuite and attendees were in awe of the bedroom and spa bath. Macaw Custom Homes won Best Entertainment Area with two wrap-around porches with breathtaking views. Everview Homes won the Judges Creative Award for the kitchen and fireplace tile that went all the way to the ceilings!
Thank you to every member who worked on a Parade home as a vendor, supplier, or contractor. Thank you to our many volunteers who worked in the Builders' homes. Thank you to our golf cart drivers and entry gate hosts. We also extend our gratitude to the City of Castroville, the Chamber of Commerce, the Castroville Police Department, and the Medina County Sheriff’s Department, who all helped make the event one of the best yet!
We couldn’t put on a Parade of this magnitude without the people who lead and support an event of this size. A special thank you to Past President Ed Berlanga and President Shad Schmid for their leadership and help in getting the Parade plan in place. Thank you to Brandon Rickett and his team at IES Residential for getting power to our ticket trailer and exhibit tent, and last but certainly not least Dominick Alongi, our Parade chairman, who was on site every day, and Jason Edwards, Co-Chair along with GSABA’s amazing staff who put in countless hours!
And while we are so pleased with this year’s event, we are already planning for the 2024 Parade of Homes. Information will be released soon.
 Jack Uptmore, Uptmore Custom Homes
Parker Kane Custom Homes winning the People’s Choice Award and the Judge’s Choice Award along with Best Kitchen, Best Interior Design, and Best Outdoor Living.
Jack Uptmore of Uptmore Homes was presented with awards for Best Elevation, Best Floorplan and Best Landscape for his 2023 Parade entry. Serving as both the developer of Country Village Estates and
a Parade builder, Jack was recognized and spoke to the Preview Party attendees. As a 17-time Parade builder, GSABA past president and board member, we all owe Jack a debt of gratitude for his continued leadership
