2022 PARADE OF HOMES TO BE HELD IN COUNTRY VILLAGE ESTATES IN CASTROVILLE
We are thrilled to announce that the Parade of HomesTM will be held in Jack Uptmore’s new development, Country Village Estates in Castroville, in the Fall of 2022. Jack and his father, Jim, have been very involved with the Greater San Antonio Builders Association (GSABA) over the past 50+ years and are one of three father and sons to have both served as GSABA President. Mr. Jim Uptmore served as President in 1966, and we owe a debt of gratitude to him for our Housing Center and Ballroom along with Mr. Paul Sword. Without their significant donation and leadership, we wouldn’t have the home we do today.
Jack was GSABA’s President in 2011. He serves as the Chair of the Housing Center Trustees and is very active on the Board of Directors. We are excited to team up with the Uptmore family for the 2022 Parade of Homes.
We will host our first Parade Builder meeting on Friday, January 13th at 10:00 am onsite in Castroville, TX. All Builder members are invited to join us for this critical kick off meeting. We will meet again on Thursday, January 27th at 10:00am at GSABA in the Executive Conference Room for the lot draw. If you are interested in building in the Parade this year, please call me and I will send you the information that you need along with the Parade Builder contract and lot plat map.
We have so many exciting things planned for 2022. We will kick off the year with the Housing Forecast on Thursday, January 20th at 7:30am at the JW Marriott Hotel. This year, we welcome Lawrence Dean, senior vice president of Zonda (formerly Metrostudy) for Texas. Prior to joining Metrostudy as the Houston Regional Director in 2014, Lawrence held leadership roles in land acquisition and development for D.R. Horton, KB Home and Ryland Homes.
The Housing Forecast will provide invaluable information for the San Antonio market, including annual starts with average and median prices for the last ten years, key data on new home inventories with price points, annual starts by lot size and price range, along with existing developed lot inventory by price range and location. We will serve a hearty breakfast beginning at 8:00am. You can register and pay online at sabuilders.com, but hurry, this event sells out every year. After the Housing Forecast, GSABA will co-host a Candidate Forum for House District 122 with the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce in our Ballroom on Thursday, January 20th from 11:00am to 1:00pm; lunch will be served. Representative Larson has served our community with distinction since 1991 but is not running for re-election. Five candidates have filed for his seat and as of press time, we have three of the five committed to join us for this Candidate Forum. Tickets can be purchased

Our Government Affairs and Advocacy efforts will remain one of our top priorities in 2022. If you have a desire to serve on the Government Affairs Committee, please reach out to me. We have worked hard over the past few years to engage all our elected officials on the local, state and national levels and we will continue to do so in 2022.
