business location, offer a comprehensive and clearly
defined contract, and maintain adequate workers’ com-
pensation and general liability insurance. It’s also crucial
to check references and visit homes currently under construction or recently completed by the
builder or remodeler. Effective communication is key to a successful partnership, so ensure you
find someone who aligns with your needs.
One of the main reasons we host the Parade of Homes™ is to highlight our builders, vendors,
suppliers, and members. With new building materials and advancing technology, it’s vital to stay
informed. Housing affordability remains a pressing concern due to persistently high interest rates,
rising material costs from inflation and tariffs, and increasing insurance rates. We remain opti-
mistic that easing burdensome regulations will help reduce building costs, ultimately benefiting
home buyers.
Homeownership builds equity and provides stability for families and individuals alike. Most Amer-
icans view homeownership as the best long-term investment. Housing plays a crucial role in our
local, state, and national economies, contributing approximately 15 percent to the U.S. economy.
Nothing has a greater local economic impact than home building.
