GSABA's Susan Wright BECOMES TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF
BUILDERS'
First Woman President

With skis larger than her body, and water splashing harshly against the side of the boat, Susan Wright set her young mind to the challenging task of water skiing. She fell continuously, but her father was there to remind her she could do whatever she set her mind to. With a determination and a tenacity ingrained by her parents, Wright pushed herself until she could water ski with confidence. Now a hard- working adult, Wright lives by the notion of not giving up. “You might not get it the first time, but just keep going,” she says. As the newly installed president of the Texas Association of Builders, Wright will continue her tenacity to take on tasks.
Wright initially had no aspirations for a leadership role when she joined her local and state associations in the '90s. She was simply happy to be giving her time to things she was passionate about. “TAB is one of the most positive organizations I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve never met so many smart, diverse, warm and fun people,” she says. For 18 years, Wright had a job running a high-end, high-profile community in San Antonio. She was a young single parent raising two boys which caused her to “grow up out of necessity and learn the development business.” Her role with The Dominion set the course for her later positions in life and guided her toward many great opportunities and people.
While working at The Dominion, Wright met her close friend Michael Moore — the person she chose to install her as TAB’s president on Nov. 13. When
