Sales Surtax Update

Project Details: The project consisted of improvements to storm water drainage, parking lot safety striping, exterior building envelope, mechanical and building control renewals, electrical and lighting upgrades, and fire alarm compliance upgrades.

The half-cent sales surtax, approved by Brevard County voters in 2014, provides funding for critical facility renewal, educational technology and security projects throughout the school district. New Math Textbooks Planned for 2019-2020 School Year
The Office of Leading and Learning has recommended new aligned math instructional materials to the School Board. The newly adopted mathematics program will be implemented in the 2019-2020 school year.
Brevard County residents and parents are invited to review these math instructional materials. These materials have demo accounts readily available for public, click on the image to review.
Petitions: Any Brevard County resident or parent who wishes to file a petition proffering evidence that the selected instructional materials don’t meet requirements of Florida Statutes may do so by completing the petition form accessible below within the 30-day public review window (Jan. 23 - Feb. 21, 2019). Petitions are due to Pam Escobar via email at escobar.pam@brevardschools.org, or by mail to 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera, FL 32940 by 5pm on February 21, 2019. All petitioners will have a chance
to speak at the March 15th public hearing in front of the district hearing officer to express concerns.
