Girl’s Soccer
Having lost several seniors last year, the girl’s soccer team had to readjust to having a fairly new group. The team fought hard all season long and had a great season with a record of 13 wins, 6 loses, and 3 ties. The girl’s won important games, beating our school rival, West Shore, twice, and defeating Melbourne Central Catholic to win the district and advance to Regionals. Winning districts is not a new feeling to this team having claimed three District champion titles in the past four years.
The team finished the season with a tough loss against Trinity Prep in the Regional Semifinal game. This has been the second time that the team had made it that far.
“I am really proud of what this team has accomplished. Nobody thought we would make it as far as we did. It was tough but I am glad we fought hard and we’re able to win districts again this year,” senior captain Melia Miller, said.
Francesca Espinoza, the new Eastern Florida commit, 12, was also voted All-Conference in the Cape Coast Conference.
Boy’s Basketball
Going up against tough teams in the Cape Coast Conference, the boy’s varsity basketball team finished the season with five wins and 15 loses. The boy’s played hard all season long and pulled through with some big wins. On senior night the team secured a huge win against one of our island rivals, Merritt Island Christian School. The team had an amazing victory and won with a score of 73- 31. The boys also had another great win against Somerset College Prep Academy winning by a score of 63- 51. Throughout the season, senior captain, Camden Ronsisvalle, lead the team recording personal high scoring games.
“We never stopped trying whether we were up 20 or down 20. We played our hardest to the very end,” Ronsisvalle said.
