Welcome to our fifth installment of the Edge for this school year. In this issue we take a look into the diverse array of hobbies that students at Edgewood possess. The staff of this magazine share a hobby that drives us to produce a monthly product for our peers to enjoy. Our cover story sees another group that shares a passion for what they do. Passions, hobbies - they have so much good to them but it’s not always happy trails. What happens when someone isn’t appreciative of your hobby and even goes as far as to speak out on what they think? Its reasonable to say that when someone talks poorly about your hobby and/or how you do it, you would be upset. I can tell you that I know very little about cars but I think it’s awesome how passionate and involved the guys in our story are and I have only good things to say. If you have criticism for what someone does, how they go about doing the activity that they are passionate about, think about what it means to them and how much work, effort, and/or time they’ve put into it. Take a second to think if you could even do what they do; I know I could never work on my car like the people in our story, I wouldn’t even know where to start. In closing, I’d like to suggest that before you start to criticize the works and passions of others, think about everything their work entails and if you could even do it yourself. Additionally, if any of you have ideas for this magazine - content you would like to see, design concept you think would look good, or even just telling you what you want to see expanded upon - let us know. We’re always open to positive, well- thought commentary.
