Title: Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS)
Description: PBIS is a school-wide framework and set proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. The PBIS framework is one that supports other programs, approaches and curricula at the school level, such as trauma informed care, restorative practices, or Second Step. PBIS focuses on teaching expectations and rules for all students within all school settings including classrooms, hallways, buses, cafeteria and restrooms. Additionally, the team places focus on data-based decision-making to prevent problem behaviors across a school campus, acknowledgment of pro- social behaviors, and implementing effective consequences to behavior. www.pbis.org
