SOUTH WEST BRITISH BLUE CLUB REPORT 2024
Cornwall Pedigree Calf show
Many congratulations to John & Yvonne Hopkins for
claiming both, Champion and reserve Interbreed with their
home bred heifer Delhorn Uptown Girl, and reserve
champion with their bull Delhorn Untouchable, both sired
by Tweedale Ebony and out of Solway View Nancy.

The 2024 show season started with Devon County Show under the watchful eye of Judge. Tim Bodily with his
Champion being the Haste family's heifer Solway View Sassy, taking reserve spot was Andrew (Bart) Luxton &
Georgina Barker’s home bred heifer Highland Blues Spruce.
Next, we're off to the Royal Bath & West Show were judge
John Quick selected his Champion again going to the
Haste's heifer Solway View Sassy, with reserve going to the
relatively new breeders Fred & Jo Power's bull Lewemcor
Tango Bell.
Closely followed on the show calendar is the Royal
Cornwall Show. A disappointing low number of entries but
nevertheless quality throughout judged this year by Issy
Hartley of the renowned Pendle herd. Top spot going to
Andrew (Bart) Luxton & Georgina Barkers Highland Blues
Spruce and the reserve Championship going to Gail Ellis's
Trencrom Smee, Gail also won the Premier breeder and
Premier Exbitor awards.
In the yearling bull competition Fred & Jo Powers bull
Lewemcor Tango Bell came a respectable 2nd in a strong
line up of continentals, and congratulations to James May
from Bromsgrove making the long journey down with his
home bred blue cross heifer “Check Me Out” taking
reserve champion and best blue sired in the primestock
The number of Blues entering the one-day shows was
